Quilting 102

This is your chance to get to know the tools of the trade! Starting with choosing fabric for your project, moving on to reading a pattern, cutting and piecing, designing the quilt, making a quilt sandwich, basic machine quilting, and finishing the quilt off with binding. Expect to do some homework between classes.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: This is a very beginning class, that said, it is good to have a general idea how to run a sewing machine. We will help you become more familiar with your machine, but basic threading, etc, for your style of machine would be appreciated.
Requirements: Sewing machine, thread, fabric scissors, thread snips, rotary cutter, 6"x24" ruler, various other smaller rulers as discussed in the first class, marking tool, pins or Wonder Clips, That Purple Thang, basic sewing supplies. Please bring all sewing machine accessories and feet to 1st class.
Instructor: Pat Minnick
Instructor Bio: Pat has made sewing her life and since she is "just down the street and around the corner", she has become a regular at It's Sew Tempting and a great help to us. She tests patterns for several local pattern designers and some that aren't local too. She loves Bernina sewing machines and "Mandy", her Q16, is the newest member of her sewing machine family. Her husband is Mark and they have two furry children, Penny and Pepper.
